Florida Behavioral Health Associates was founded on a simple principle: to provide expert, evidence-based psychiatric care that is both accessible and deeply compassionate. Meet Our Founder: Jason DeLuisa, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC

Jason DeLuisa is a dually board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of diverse experience in healthcare. His journey began with service as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Air Force and a Combat Medic in the Army National Guard, where he developed a foundational commitment to patient care under pressure.

After his military service, Jason built a long and distinguished career as a Registered Nurse in demanding environments, including the Emergency Department and Pediatric Intensive Care. It was on the front lines of medicine that he saw firsthand the profound connection between mental and physical health.

Driven by a desire to provide more comprehensive, one-on-one care, Jason pursued advanced practice education. He became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to manage the complete health of his patients and later earned a post-master's certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to specialize in the area he was most passionate about.

His unique background includes owning and operating a successful multi-provider primary care and behavioral health clinic, providing vital telepsychiatry services to correctional facilities across Alaska, and caring for the homeless population. This breadth of experience has given him a deep understanding of the challenges people from all walks of life face.

Our Philosophy

"After years as a nurse in emergency rooms and ICUs, I saw how often mental health was at the core of a person's struggles, yet it wasn't getting the focused attention it deserved," says Jason. "I wanted to do more than just treat the immediate crisis. I founded this practice to provide the kind of in-depth, personalized psychiatric care that leads to lasting change. My goal is to combine decades of medical experience with specialized psychiatric expertise to offer treatment that is both scientifically sound and genuinely supportive."
