Meet Our Founder
Jason de Luisa
PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC — Founder & Clinical Director

Jason de Luisa came to psychiatry the long way. Before focusing on mental health, he worked emergency medicine, correctional psychiatry across Alaska, and community health settings where psychiatric care was scarce and patients were underserved. He has treated people in crisis, people who'd been dismissed by every provider they'd tried, and people who had given up on getting help.

He started this practice because he believes psychiatric medication management should be thorough, honest, and human. Charts are read before appointments — not during them. The hard questions get asked. Patients are not treated like a number on a schedule.

Dual board-certified in psychiatric and family medicine, with 16+ years of clinical experience. Objective QbCheck testing is available for ADHD evaluations when it adds clinical value. Currently accepting new patients throughout Florida via secure telehealth.

Common Questions
Two Things Patients Ask First
Yes — when clinically appropriate. Every patient is evaluated individually, and stimulant medications are prescribed when the clinical picture supports it. We don't have a policy against stimulants, and we won't make you feel like a drug seeker for asking. Prescriptions are based on clinical evaluation — never guaranteed, but never withheld without good clinical reason.
A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse with specialized graduate training in psychiatric evaluation and medication management. In Florida, PMHNPs have full prescriptive authority for psychiatric medications without physician oversight — including controlled substances. A board-certified PMHNP is fully qualified to evaluate, diagnose, and treat the outpatient psychiatric conditions we see at this practice.
Why Patients Choose Us
What Makes This Practice Different
1–2 Week Wait
We have appointments available within 1–2 days — without sacrificing the quality of the evaluation.
📋
Real Evaluations
Your intake forms are read before your appointment — not during it. Your first visit is spent on evaluation and conversation, not collecting basic history you already provided.
💊
No Blanket Policies
We don't have blanket policies against stimulants or any other medication class. Treatment decisions are based on your clinical picture — not on what's easiest to defend.
🎓
Dual Board Certified
Our clinical director holds dual board certification in psychiatric and family medicine — PMHNP-BC and FNP-BC. That broader clinical foundation means psychiatric symptoms are evaluated in the context of your overall health.
📍
Manatee & Sarasota County Specialists
The Bradenton-Sarasota corridor has almost no dedicated outpatient psychiatric specialists. The closest options are in Tampa — a long drive for a 20-minute follow-up. We serve this region specifically, plus all of Florida via telehealth.
🔬
Objective ADHD Testing
We offer QbCheck — an FDA-cleared objective ADHD test that goes beyond self-report. When the clinical picture is ambiguous, objective data matters. Most telehealth practices don't offer this.
